However, the "image only" trees work well for SketchUp and can be made to work with other renderers like Podium if you use the edit and explode trick. Flamingo brings the raytrace and radiosity rendering inside Rhino to produce photometrically accurate images with reflections, refraction, diffusion, translucency, transparency, color bleeding, hard and soft shadows, depth of field, depth attenuation, and indirect lighting. Adding a small amount of Gaussian blur to a mask before using it may help soften these edges. Distance and Materials channels are not anti-aliased and may show some hard-edged artifacts. (RpTreemaker and IRender nXt were both developed by the McNeel/nXt/AccuRender team, so the nXt renderer can automatically re-render the trees. My renderings saved with alpha channel come out with some dark lines around the edges. Especially as you zoom in and zoom out on the trees.

You might try the Render Plus renderer - IRender nXt - It automatically re-renders the trees as fully fractal trees and gives a much better result. We are working on a new version which will create the face directly in SketchUp instead of the image, and which will probably create realistic shadows in SketchUp as well. This explodes the image into a face, which makes a square shadow in SketchUp, but renders properly in Podium. (its well worth the five minutes it takes to learn about using alpha.

look under flamingo and/or photoshop help for more info on exactly how to do it. now once you have rendered the image you can select he background in photoshop using the alpha channel. Flamingo brings the raytrace and radiosity rendering inside Rhino to produce photometrically accurate images with reflections, refraction, diffusion, translucency, transparency, color bleeding, hard and soft shadows, depth of field, depth attenuation, and indirect lighting. Podium users need to edit the tree component, and the select and explode the image inside of the component. Go into Flamingo 'environment' settings dialogue box. I would love to hear your comment on the rendering and a merry christmas from Spain It was always a difficult but important item. Very good though that you are looking at tree presentation within Sketchup.

I presume it will take a lot of working memory this tree maker.

Is this right? Or is it something still to be looked at or does it only appear after a certain time on a long rendering. i might be wrong but when i tried to render a file with some of these trees in Podium 1.6 ignored them in rendering. Nice one!Īs far as the tree maker is concerned i had a quick look and i liked the graphic presentation. Will save loads of time especially in mirroring. I am already very pleased about the plugin that moves and mirrors etc.
